Illinois grade school kids have a great underSTANding of sportsmanship

Central Elementary School in Roxana, Ill. invited us in last week for a Musial Moments presentation. I’m definitely in my element among the kids.

Central Elementary 1
Me and 250 of my closest friends!

Central’s kids were a great audience and they overwhelmingly passed the sportsmanship quiz. The three most important things in sports are to have fun, be good and play right.Have fun! Be good! Play right! Three sentences. Six words – just like Stan Musial’s number six.

Coincidentally, one Central student wanted to show me his tribute to Stan Musial after the presentation. He showed me this picture:

I don’t think anyone in St. Louis would disagree with this.

Musial Moments is a free, fun, interactive and impactful 45-minute presentation that motivates students to care about sportsmanship and to be good to those around them – just as Stan the Man did during his illustrious career and life.
