That awkward moment when your coach shuts you down on social media


Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning officially retired from football on Monday. He received mostly well-wishes from other players, media and fans the world over.

Of course, there are always haters. Enter Pittsburgh Steelers running back DeAngelo WIlliams. Here’s what he posted about Manning via Twitter Monday morning:

Keep in mind Williams is a backup for the Steelers and NFL contracts aren’t guaranteed. After trading barbs with several fans, this little nugget came across the Twitterverse on Tuesday afternoon from someone who has an opinion that Williams should care very much about:

For those scoring at home, Mike Tomlin is the head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers and holds Peyton Manning in very high regard. Now, I’m not saying Williams should worry about his spot. I am saying he may not want to make any big purchases anytime soon.
