Academy Award-winner Jamie Foxx saved a stranger from a burning truck on Monday night. It wasn’t on a movie set. This was real. Have a look at the Sky News story below.
Foxx’s words and attitude mirror those of Musial Awards winners. He doesn’t think he’s a hero. He just saw someone in trouble and did what came naturally. It really wasn’t a big deal.
Well, it was a big deal. Foxx’s example is the type we try to use to encourage kids through the Musial Moments program. The physical strength and positive character traits you gain from sports can be used to help others off the field.
What does this story have to do with sports, though? Foxx played quarterback for his high school football team in Texas and dreamed of one day playing in the NFL. He obviously became a professional in something else and has done very well, but he never forgot the lessons he learned on the field.
