It is said that it’s not about the size of the young man in the battle, but the size of his heart while he’s engaged in the battle. The young men of the Pattonville Jr. Pirates fought to the very end of last Saturday morning’s contest against the Troy Jr. Trojans.
The Sportsmanship Brigade recognized Isaiah White of Pattonville for his leadership and positive attitude. The Pirates had no quit in them and Isaiah made sure of it. While the scoreboard did not show a victory, Isaiah would not allow it to affect the intensity of his play nor how much fun he was having.
Isaiah is an outstanding young man and the Brigade is humbled to know and celebrate him.
The Sportsmanship Brigade is a group of Sports Commission volunteers who attend youth sporting events looking for acts of good sportsmanship. Athletes, coaches, parents, fans and officials who exhibit good sportsmanship are rewarded with a certificate of recognition and a gift card to a local business.
