Drop Off

The following is an update of the May 21st blog post. To view that story, please follow this link – http://tinyurl.com/yfxfx6f.

Jeremy Tyler (center with head down) may have made the biggest mistake of his life. He left high school after his junior year to join a professional basketball team in Israel. As you might expect, Tyler isn’t doing so well. The following quote is from a recent Yahoo! Sports article describing the experience he is having.

“His coach calls him lazy and out of shape. The team captain says he is soft. His teammates say he needs to learn to shut up and show up on time. In extensive interviews with Tyler, his teammates, his coaches, his father and his advisers, the consensus is that he is so naive and immature that he has no idea how naive and immature he is. So enamored with his vast potential, Tyler has not developed the work ethic necessary to tap it.”

The part of the quote that bothers me the most is the reference made to all of the people around Tyler. He has coaches, teammates, his father, and advisers around him. Yet, no one will tell him the seven words he needs to hear most. Go home, Jeremy. Go back to school. Until next time…
